If your research focuses on particular questions of cognition, architecture, methodology or theory, we consider it basic AI research. If it focuses on the application of AI technologies for various purposes other than AI development, we consider it applied AI. We welcome any papers describing or using new theories and methodologies, separately or in relation to other topics, as well as application of AI for any purpose in industry, government, or society. Each one can have a theoretical or practical focus.
